Robert Zimmerman, MD, is a Cum Laude graduate of the University of California,
Los Angeles, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He
graduated from the UCLA School of Medicine where he was selected for
membership in the honorary medical society, Alpha Omega Alpha. He served
his medical internship at UCLA's San Fernando Valley Program at the Olive
View Medical Center and the VA Sepulveda Medical Center in California. Dr.
Zimmerman completed his Radiation Oncology residency at the UCLA Department
of Radiation Oncology in Los Angeles.
Dr. Zimmerman has done extensive research in cancer treatment and was the recipient of an American
Cancer Society Clinical Oncology Fellowship and a Radiological Society of North America Roentgen
Resident/Fellow Research Award. His scientific research work has resulted in numerous publications
and presentations pertaining to Radiation Oncology. Dr. Zimmerman has served as Assistant Professor
of Radiation Oncology at the Texas A&M University College of Medicine. He is a member of the American
Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the American College of Radiation Oncology and is
board-certified in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Radiology. He has had extensive
experience with High Dose Rate (HDR) implants for GYN cancer and Prostate Brachytherapy with permanent seed implants
as well being an early adopter of CT guided - Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy using the TomoTherapy
